J.D. has worked in the environmental field for 18 years as an educator. She holds a B.S. in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences from George Mason University. She is a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. Throughout her career, she has found different ways to reach the public through writing, website design, graphic design, and cartography. Her clients range from environmental organizations to artists to small businesses.
